Benjamin Katiyo

Benjamin was born in Murehwa in 1970 and spend 11 years of his life in school. He started sculpting in 1996, and was influenced by his young brother, the renowned Royal Katiyo, who is famous mostly for his Quail birds. Benjamin started sculpting at the Gavazi Art Centre in Mvurwi and hasn’t looked back since. He has exhibited in the UK, USA and France. In Zimbabwe, he has exhibited with a Harare group at the Mobile Heritage at the National Art Gallery, Gaining an Award of Merit in 1998.
