Born is Harare, Zimbabwe 1980.
Patrick started with a focus on sheet metal work, drawing and design in his early education. Patrick is the youngest brother of renowned Zimbabwean Sculptor, Jim Sephani. In 1991, while attending school, Patrick began sculpting.
His skills evolved sculpting small off-cuts at Tapfuma Gutsa's home studio. Agnes Nyanhongo and Joseph Munemo (famous and respected Zimbabwean sculptors) invited Patrick to apprentice in 1995. The three provided the foundation Patrick builds now on. Patrick style further evolved working with other popular stone sculptors such as Euwitt, Gedion, Wellington, Brian, Collen Nyanhongo, and Dominic Benhura until 2002. Today Patrick's work reveals detailed expressive moods and emotion. He marries the natural and the spiritual elements of stones in generating art.
Patrick's work is in private art collections and galleries worldwide. Canada, USA, Netherlands, German, Belgium, and the UK are especially strong markets.
After marrying Tinashe in 2004, he became the sculptor in residence at Boschendal Winery Estate in Cape Town, South Africa. He also spent part of each year in the Netherlands, where he taught practical and theoretical art.
Patrick was the ZIMSCULPT artist in residence for seven consecutive years (2008- 2014). He also began collecting art and sculptures from Zimbabwaen artists to sell along with his own art to dealers and tourists.
Patrick, Tinashe and their children immigrated to Canada in July 2015. Today he continues sculpting as he delivers works of art inspired by his homeland, Zimbabwe.
