01. Who we are

ZimCarving ("we", "us", "our") sells hand-carved stone sculptures by artists from Zimbabwe and works from a shared studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use zimcarving.com, contact us, book a visit, buy a sculpture or join a workshop.

We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

02. What we collect

We collect information you give us directly:

• Contact form: your name, email, phone number, subject and message.
• Appointment requests: your name, email, phone number, preferred dates and time of day, number of visitors, reason for visiting and how you'd like us to contact you.
• Shop orders: your name, email, phone number, billing and shipping address, and the items you buy.
• Workshop bookings: the name and email of each person attending.

When you visit the website, we also collect basic technical information automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the items in your cart.

03. How we use it

• To reply to your questions and arrange studio visits.
• To process, deliver and support your orders and workshop bookings.
• To send you emails about your order, booking or request.
• To keep the website secure and working well.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We will only send you news or marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

04. Cookies

Cookies are small files saved in your browser. We use essential cookies to keep your shopping cart, process checkout and keep the website secure. Embedded content, such as videos from Vimeo, may set its own cookies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the website, such as the cart and checkout, may not work without them.

05. Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with trusted service providers who help us run the business, and only as much as they need:

• Our website hosting and email delivery providers.
• Payment processors (such as Stripe), who handle your card details directly. We never see or store your full card number.
• Shipping and delivery companies, when we send you a sculpture.
• Embedded services, such as Vimeo for videos.

Some of these providers may store information outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. We may also share information when the law requires it.

06. How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the reasons above. Messages and appointment requests are deleted when they are no longer needed. Order records are kept for as long as Canadian tax law requires (usually six years).

We protect your information with reasonable safeguards, including a secure (HTTPS) connection and limited access to our systems.

07. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• See the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
• Delete your information, unless we must keep it by law.
• Withdraw your consent to emails or other uses.

If you are not happy with how we handled your request, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia. Our website is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
