Terms & Conditions.
The rules for using our website, buying a sculpture and joining a workshop.
In short
Every sculpture is one of a kind and hand-carved from natural stone, so small differences from the photos are part of its character. Prices are in Canadian dollars. If anything is unclear, just ask us before you buy.
01. About these terms
These terms apply to zimcarving.com and to everything you buy or book from ZimCarving ("we", "us", "our"), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. By using the website, placing an order or booking a workshop or visit, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
02. Our sculptures
- Each sculpture is hand-carved by an artist in Zimbabwe and is one of a kind.
- Natural stone varies in colour, pattern and texture. Colours on screen may look slightly different in real life.
- Sizes and weights are approximate.
- You are welcome to see a piece in person at our Vancouver studio before you buy. Visits are by appointment.
03. Orders and payment
- All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Applicable taxes and shipping are shown at checkout.
- Payment is taken when you place your order. Card payments are handled securely by our payment provider.
- Because each piece is unique, it can only be sold once. If a piece sells out before your order is confirmed, or a price is shown in error, we will contact you and give you a full refund.
- Your order is accepted when you receive our order confirmation email.
04. Shipping and returns
We pack every sculpture with care. Delivery times and costs depend on the size of the piece and where it is going, and are confirmed at checkout or by email. Local pickup in Vancouver can be arranged. [ASK CLIENT: shipping areas, delivery times, local pickup]
Please check your sculpture when it arrives and tell us within 48 hours if it is damaged, with photos of the piece and the packaging. [ASK CLIENT: return window, e.g. 14 days, who pays return shipping, and refund timing]
05. Workshops, visits and commissions
- Workshops: places are confirmed once your booking is complete. Stone carving uses sharp tools, so please follow your instructor's safety guidance at all times. [ASK CLIENT: cancellation and refund policy, minimum age]
- Studio visits: visits are by appointment only. An appointment request is not confirmed until Patrick contacts you to agree on a time.
- Commissions and services: price, timing and details for commissions, repairs and installations are agreed with you in writing before any work starts.
06. Our content
The photos, text, logo and sculpture designs on this website belong to ZimCarving or to the artists. Please don't copy or reuse them without our written permission. Sharing a link to our pages is always welcome.
When you use the website, please don't try to harm it, misuse its forms or access areas that are not meant for you.
07. Liability
We do our best to keep the website accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be error-free or online. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses that come from using the website. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under British Columbia consumer protection law.
Stone sculptures are heavy. Please follow our care and placement advice, and ask us about professional installation for large pieces.
08. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada. We may update them from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version.
