About Infinite Beauty
Infinite Beauty is a one-of-a-kind serpentine sculpture hand-carved by Peter Kananji, one of the Zimbabwean sculptors represented by ZimCarving. It measures 35 × 13 × 43 cm and weighs 15.8 kg.
Serpentine is the classic stone of Zimbabwean sculpture. Its colour and veining change from block to block, so the finished surface is different in every piece. Like every piece in our collection, this sculpture was shaped with chisels, rasps and files, then sanded, heated and waxed by hand, so no two sculptures are ever the same.
